Mike is the head coach of the Varsity Basketball team, oversees the high school and youth programs, and helps to organize the Wasatch Back Basketball League.  An alumnus of the University of Utah, he played with the 1998 Final Four Utes as a 1stTeam Academic All-American, while studying biology and physics.  Mike went on to play 10 years in the NBA, highlighted by winning a championship with the 2006 Miami Heat.  After retiring from basketball in 2008, he began a new career as educator and coach, teaching physics and coaching basketball at Park City High School. He now continues to pursue his passion for learning, competition, and helping kids by growing the high school and youth basketball programs here in Park City.

The Park City Basketball programs strive to teach more than just the game.  Mike’s goal is to instill in his teams a growth mindset, strong work ethic, leadership skills, and an appreciation for our environment and community.

Mike and his wife Shannon (another U of U alumnus and former gymnast) are raising two boys and enjoy outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, hiking, biking and skiing (as well as music), when not in the gym.
